Two theft cases solved; lady among four arrested with stolen items

JAMMU, Jan 7: Domana and Nagrota Police solved two theft cases with the arrest of four persons including a lady along with stolen items.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Domana by Manager of a Banquet Hall at Barnai namely Khem Raj, son of Narayan Dutt of Barnai, District Jammu regarding theft at banquet hall.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 04/2022 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Domana led by SHO Inspector Mahesh Sharma was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Sunil Singh.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV cameras footages of the area finally added two thieves, who also confessed their involvement in theft case.
The arrested thieves were identified as Daljeet Kumar, son of Sodi Lal and Hardeep Singh, son of Mangal Singh, both residents of Punjab.
On their disclosure, stolen items including tyre along with rim, four fan motors, three blankets, three curtains, one clutch plate of tractor and other stolen items of total value around Rs 10,000 were recovered.
Meanwhile, information was received at Police Station Nagrota that some unknown thieves break opens the locks and shutters of three shops at Lane Number 19, Jagti Migrant Colony and took away money and other valuable items.
Acting over the information, a case under FIR Number 445/2021 under relevant sections was registered and a team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh was constituted to investigate the case under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh.
After hectic efforts and analysis of CCTV cameras footage, the team arrested a thief, who was identified as Mohammad Muneer, son of Mohammad Iqbal of Krimchi Mansar District Udhampur.
During questioning, he disclosed that he sold the stolen items to a lady namely Sudesh Kumari, wife of Subash Chander of Resham Ghar Colony, District Jammu.
During the search of lady’s residence in presence of EMIC, recovery of valuable items worth Rs 15000 was made and the lady was arrested. Offence under Section 411 IPC was also added in the instant case.
Further investigation into the cases is going on to ascertain the involvement of arrested persons in other theft cases.
The overall arrests and recoveries in both the cases were made under the supervision of SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
