JAMMU, Feb 22: RS Pura Police has claimed to have solved two theft cases by arresting thieves and recovering stolen items including two vehicles.
According to a police spokesman, a complaint was lodged at Police Station RS Pura by one person namely Ramesh Kumar son of late Krishan Lal of RS Pura stating that his Mahindra tractor along with trolley was stolen from Chohala Morh.
Similarly another complaint was lodged at Police Station RS Pura by a complainant namely Gurdeep Singh son of Saroop Singh of Simbal Morh (RS Pura) 5.5 quintals of paddy crops were stolen from his godown situated at Mehlowal.
Accordingly, two separate cases vide FIR Number 10/2024 U/S 379 IPC and FIR Number 37/2024 U/S 454/380 IPC were registered at Police Station RS Pura and investigation started.
During investigation, Police rounded up two suspects identified as Mohd Amjad son of Sadiq Ahmed of Baleeni Pull (Nagrota, Jammu) and Rohit Kumar son of Parshotam of Gazipur Kullian (RS Pura, Jammu) who on sustained questioning confessed their involvement in the theft cases.
“On the disclosure of the accused, a stolen tractor along with trolley bearing registration number JK02N-2061 and stolen 5.5 quintal of paddy crops were recovered,” the spokesman said.
He said two motorcycles bearing chassis numbers MBLHAR086JHM57862 and MBLHAW114NHF92735 were also recovered from their possession. Further investigation of the case was going on, he added.
