Two theft cases solved; WB resident among three accused arrested

JAMMU, Jan 8: Bakshi Nagar Police solved two theft cases with the arrest of three accused including a resident of West Bengal (WB) and recovery of stolen items.
As per police sources, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Bakshi Nagar by a lady namely Rashmi, wife of Suraj of Old Roulki Bakshi Nagar District Jammu, regarding theft at her house by some unknown thieves. On the other hand, another written complaint was received at Police Station Bakshi Nagar regarding theft in the house of a lady namely Kusum Lata Dutta, wife of RP Mehta of Gurah Bakshi Nagar District Jammu.
Acting over the complaints, two cases under FIR Numbers 190/2021 and 02/2022 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC were registered respectively at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a special team of Police Station Bakshi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Harjeet Singh was constituted.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV cameras footages of the area finally nabbed two thieves, who were identified as Amit Mehra, son of Balwinder of Puran Nagar, Bhagwati Nagar District Jammu, Deepak Singh, son of Ram Singh of Bhagwati Nagar District Jammu in case registered under FIR Number 190/2021. On their disclosure, stolen gold items weighing 20 grams were recovered.
On the other hand, the team also arrested a thief involved in FIR Number 02/2022 and is identified as Shib Kumar, son of Bala Ram of West Bengal. On his disclosure, stolen items including Rs 40,000 cash, 2 Apple Mobile Phones and gold items of around Rs 1 lakh were recovered.
Further questioning of the arrested persons is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
The overall arrests and recoveries in both the cases were made under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar and SP City North Kulbir Handa.
