Two thieves arrested, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, Aug 2: Channi Himmat and Nowabad Police arrested two thieves and recovered stolen items from their possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Channi Himmat by a person namely Faheem Ahmed Tak regarding theft in his car at Gujjar Colony, in which one purse containing some cash, ATM card, Driving Licence, identity card of office along with Mobile phone was stolen by some unknown persons.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 117/2022 under section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Channi Himmat led by SHO Inspector Deepak Katoch and assisted by PSI Paramjeet Singh under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari did strenuous efforts and finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Zeeshan Choudhary, son of Mohammad Isaq of Gujjar Colony District Jammu.
On his disclosure, stolen gold item were recovered.
Similarly, a written complaint was lodged at Police Post Canal Road by a lady namely Arti Thakur, daughter of Vijay Kumar of Kishtwar, at present Bhagwati Nagar District Jammu pertaining to the theft of Mangalsutar from her rented room at Bhagwati Nagar.
On the receipt of this information, a case FIR Number 90/2022 under sections 454 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
To work out the case, a team from Police Post Canal Road led by PSI Amreek Singh was constituted under the supervision of SHO Nowabad Inspector Vijay Sharma and DySP Headquarters Swati Sharma.
The team after connecting various leads finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Rahul Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar of Sheikh Nagar Bahu Fort District Jammu, at present Bhagwati Nagar District Jammu.
On his disclosure, stolen golden ornament (mangalsutar) was recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
