UDHAMPUR, May 4: Two weeks course on “Traffic Policing” organised at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) concluded today, in which officers of the rank of Asstt Sub-Inspectors to Inspectors of Traffic wing of Police Department took part.
On the valedictory function, Dr Nutan Kumar Rasotra, Principal, Government Degree College, emphasized on the need of strict implementation of traffic laws and directions of Supreme Court related to traffic management and road traffic accidents.
Dr Rasotra stressed upon the participating officers that apart from implementation of traffic laws the society at large is required to be made aware and follow the traffic rules in letter in spirit.
During the course, the participants were sensitized regarding various scientific, legal and other social measures to regulate the traffic effectively and to check the increasing number of the road accidents.
The major focus of the course was the four projects designed by Farooq Khan, Director, SKPA including causes, problems and solutions of vehicular accidents in hilly areas, traffic management and prevention of vehicular accidents and traffic management in Jammu and Srinagar.
Prominent speakers like Shefali Bhadur, Management Consultant Government Degree College, Udhampur, SD Kotwal, Advocate, Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence, Sarabpreet Singh, Amol, Vipal Sharma, Rohit Bhat from TATA Motors delivered practical lectures thereby enabling the participating officers to detect and follow the measures to check the problem of overloading in commercial as well as passenger vehicles.
Pawan Sharma, ARTO Udhampur, Varinder Singh Manhas, DySP Traffic Doda/Kishtwar and indoor faculty members awared the participating officers about various laws dealing the menace of traffic.
Earlier, the course was inaugurated Ravinder Kumar Rao, Asstt Director, Indoor, SKPA.
