Srinagar, Oct 21: Police today said it arrested five bootleggers that include two women in Kargil district of Ladakh Division and recovered illicit liquor from their possession.
A police spokesman said on specific information, a police party raided few Dhabas at Kabadi Nalla and Baimathang and recovered 574 Bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of Budha Bhadure, Dando Sharpa, Kumari Tamang and Kanchi Tamang. The four bootleggers, police said, are all from Nepal. Poshan Dass, a resident of Kishtwar district was also arrested.
“The accused persons were arrested and five cases under FIR numbers 75/2015, 76/2015, 77/2015, 78/2015 and 79/2015 under Section 48 Excise Act were registered,” the spokesman added.
