Two women among three found dead

JAMMU, Aug 24: The dead body of a woman was found in mysterious condition at about 2 am today from her temporary residence at Nanak area of city outskirts while a female body reportedly of a beggar was also found from here at Rehari Chungi. Meanwhile, the dead body of a man was also found in mysterious circumstances from Muthi area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the panic gripped the Nanak Nagar area when a woman identified as Pooja Devi (18) wife of Krishan Kumar, a resident of Bihar (at present Sector No 7, Nanak Nagar), was found dead in mysterious circumstances at her residence at about 2 am today.
On getting information, a police party headed by SHO Gandhi Nagar, Bishnesh Kumar reached the spot and shifted the body of the deceased lady to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where post mortem on the body will be conducted tomorrow after her relatives reach here.
“Prima facie it appears to be a case of murder, as there are strangulation marks on the neck of the deceased”, the SHO said adding we have a registered a case under relevant Sections and started investigations.
Another body of a woman was found early this morning from a passenger shed here at Rehari Chungi, the spokesman said. He said the woman in her late 40s appears to be a beggar. “Her identity could not be ascertained and the body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary room of GMCH for identification and postmortem”, he said, adding a case in this connection has been registered at concerned police station.
Meanwhile, a dead body of a man identified as Matu Thakur (35) son of Kishan Matu, a resident of Bihar (at present KC Mohalla, Muthi) was found this morning under mysterious circumstances near a shed at KC Mohalla, Muthi, falling under the jurisdiction of police station Domana.
On getting information from locals, a police party from police station Domana led by SHO Rajinder Sharma reached the spot and shifted the body to GMCH where after conducting postmortem, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
In this connection, a case under 174 CrPC has been registered at police station Domana and further investigations started.
