Only two women made it to J&K Legislative Assembly

SRINAGAR, Dec 23:
Only two women candidates made it to the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly this time.    Shamima Firdous of National Conference (NC) retained the Habba Kadal seat for the party for the second time, defeating her nearest BJP candidat Moti Koul.
Asiea of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made it to the House for the first time from Hazratbal constituency. However, both the BJP candidates-from Amira Kadal Dr Hina Bhat and Dr Darakha Andrabi from Sonawar seat lost. Sakina Itoo, a senior NC minister, who was seeking re-election from Noorabad also lost.
