RAJOURI, April 6: Two young men tragically lost their lives in a severe road accident occurred today near the petrol pump close to the Armed Headquarters on Thannamandi Road in Fatehpur.
The fatal accident occurred when a motorcycle, bearing registration number PB08CJ-8097, collided head-on with an Alto car carrying registration number JK11E-9686. The impact of the collision was intense, resulting in grave injuries to the two youths riding the motorcycle.
Eyewitnesses reported that the collision was sudden and violent, leaving little time for response or intervention. Local residents and passersby quickly rushed to the aid of the victims and alerted emergency services. Both injured individuals were immediately transported to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for urgent medical treatment.
Despite the swift response, the medical team at GMC Rajouri, led by Medical Superintendent Shamim Choudhary, declared both individuals as brought dead upon arrival.
The deceased have been identified as Azir Shah, aged 19, son of Mazir Hussain Shah, and Toyaiv Raya, aged 18, son of Abdul Qayoom. Both were residents of Saim Samat, a village in the region.
Local police have taken cognizance of the incident and have launched an investigation to ascertain the precise cause of the collision.
