JAMMU, June 3: Lauding the farmers from Jammu & Kashmir for their stupendous effort for good results from their farms despite of difficult environment conditions in all the three regions across the State, Member National Working Committee, BJP Kissan Morcha & Seh- Prabhari J&K Kissan Morcha, V.P Tyagi today said Kissan Morcha leaders of J&K deserve all kudos for their hard work and dedication in recently held Parliament elections in which the party won three Lok Sabha seats from the State.
Addressing a press conference at BJP Headquarter Trikuta Nagar, here today, Tyagi highlighted the concern of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi towards the farmers of the country and it was because of the same that he discussed the issues of farming community in his first Cabinet meeting. He said the Narendra Modi led BJP Government has already taken many steps for the welfare of farmers in the country.
A meeting of BJP Kissan Morcha was also held under the chairmanship of Morcha State president, Rajinder Singh Chib.
Tyagi, who was chief guest on the occasion, conveyed the Kissan Morcha team to continue their struggle to achieve good results in forthcoming Assembly elections. He stated that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is well aware about the weak economic condition of the farmers. To ameliorate their lot the PM in his first Cabinet meeting, approved two new schemes for the farmers. Firstly every farmer will now get Rs. 6000 yearly, secondly every farmer will get Rs. 3000 monthly pension on attaining 60 years of age. He further said the more would be done to benefit the farmers economically in coming days.
Some burning problems of the farmers of the State were projected by the Kissan Morcha team members which included creation of procurement centre at Block level, holding of awareness camps for the farmers, digitalization of revenue record of farmers land; KCC limit be increased from Rs. 5000 per kanal to Rs. 15000, percentage of allotment of bore wells be increased specially in kandi area for irrigation, compensation to the farmers whose crops have been destroyed be increased to Rs 2000 per kanal; subsidy on bore well and tractors be increased to 50%, and monkey problem in hilly areas will be tackled.
Kissan Morcha State Prabhari Karan Singh also spoke on the occasion. He appealed all the Kissan Morcha leaders to approach the farmers of Jammu region especially at this time of scanty rain fall and apprise them of various scientific techniques to save water and increase their field production. He asked them that they must aware the farmers that the proper timing in all the processes of farming including sowing, irrigation, pesticide spray and harvesting must be followed strictly.
Rajinder Singh Chib prompted all Morcha leaders to strictly follow all directions given and experiences shared by senior leader of party. He stressed that these tips will improve their working within the farmer community.
