JAMMU, Dec 2: U Venkataramana has been appointed as the Director (Technical) of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), a group company of Indian Oil by the Government of India.
He assumed charge on Monday. This is subsequent to the superannuation of T S Ramachandran as Director (Technical) on November 30, 2014.
A post graduate from IIT-Karagpur, U Venkataramana, brings with him a wealth of over three decades of work experience in different refineries of Indian Oil Corporation Limited including stints in Head Quarters of IOCL at New Delhi in various capacities in Operations, Technical Services, Crude procurement, etc.
He has been a part of the team that bagged the National Innovation Award for developing an additive from R&D. Prior to this appointment as General Manager (Technical Services) at Mathura Refinery of IOCL, he was involved in managing Technical Services, Projects, Inspection Departments etc.
