UAV crashes, CoI ordered

JAMMU, Oct 28:  An Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) crashed at village Rajal Top in Nowshera tehsil of Rajouri district this afternoon without causing any casualties or damage but two farmers working in their field had a very narrow escape.
Army has ordered a Court of Inquiry (CoI) into the crash, official sources said.
They said a UAV of the Army, which was on a routine reconnaissance mission in Nowshera sector in Rajouri district, crashed this afternoon while flying over Rajal Top. It flew very low over a field in which two farmers Ram Lal and Sham Kumar were working. The farmers had a narrow escape.
The UAV struck with a tree and broke into pieces that fell in the field.
Police teams led by Additional SP Nowshera Purshotam Sharma and SHO Nowshera Yash Jamwal rushed to the spot. Army officers also visited the site of crash to examine the spot. The Army experts collected remnants of the UAV to ascertain reasons behind the crash, sources said.
They added that the Army has ordered a CoI into the matter to establish reasons behind the UAV crash.
