UDHAMPUR, Mar 12: Municipal Council Udhampur declared the township as ODF+ town after seeking public feedback as per the guidelines issued by Swachh Bharat Mission, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
In this connection, objections and feedback were sought from the citizens of Municipal Council Udhampur within 15 days from the date of issuance of a notification. Feedback and objections received during this period will be considered and all necessary improvements will be made as per requirement.
Accordingly, the Municipal Council has declared Udhampur as an ODF+ town.
Henceforth Open defecation, open urination, and unauthorised dumping of sewerage in open areas, drains and water bodies will be a punishable offence. The MC will be authorised to impose a penalty of Rs 200 for open defecation, Rs 100 for open urination and Rs 500 for unauthorized dumping of any litter or sewerage in open areas, drains and water bodies shall be imposed in case of any violation.
