JAMMU, July 30: UGC Chairman, Prof Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar and UGC Secretary, Prof Manish R Joshi visited the exhibition stall of University of Jammu during Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2023 at IECC Pragati Maidan, New Delhi and appreciated the innovative initiative, – Design Your Degree Program, recently launched by University of Jammu.
Many eminent academicians, administrators, including Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir; Prof Alok Kumar Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Lucknow; Prof Chakradhar Tripathi, Central University of Orissa; Prof Parikshit Singh Manhas, Chairman, JK BOSE; Ashok Sharma, Director, School Education Jammu; members of various States’ Higher Education Departments; faculty members, industry officials; and students also appreciated the novel initiative of the university.
Prof Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor JU, while explaining to UGC Secretary said that the program is designed in the true spirit of NEP 2020 which will provide a perfect learning environment for self discovery and exploration. He further informed that students will get personalized experiential learning by solving problems in collaborative team work.
The University of Jammu’s stall witnessed an overwhelming response, with a large gathering of visitors showing keen interest in enquiring about the university’s recent initiatives. The enthusiastic response from learners and other education enthusiasts highlighted the growing reputation and popularity of Jammu University in the higher education landscape.
