JAMMU, Jan 24: Four-week long UGC General Orientation Course for University and College teachers, organized by Academic Staff College in collaboration with Department of Library Sciences, concluded at JU here today.
Prof Desh Bandhu Gupta, Director Colleges Development Council, JU, was the chief guest on the valedictory function who gave away certificates to the successful candidates. 27 teachers from both within and outside the State attended the month long course.
Speaking on the occasion Director Academic Staff College Prof Rajinder Gupta highlighted the role and importance of such programmes in the carrier advancement of the teachers.
Prof Desh Bandhu Gupta, in his presidential address, underlined the role of UGC programmes for equipping the teachers with the latest knowledge trends. He also flagged many problems being faced by higher education agencies in the contemporary times. Calling upon the teachers to give their best to their profession as nation builders, Prof Gupta complimented the Academic Staff College and Prof Sangeeta Gupta, Course Co-coordinator for successfully organizing the General Orientation Course.
Prof Sangeeta Gupta, presented a brief report about the course and the various themes and topics covered under the programme.
Ranjeet Kalra, faculty member of Academic Staff College, JU, dwelt in detail on the various contours of the UGC Programme and also presented a formal vote of thanks on the occasion.
