Sir,
The ugly face of social networking sites like Facelook, Twitter and You Tube has come to fore in the wake of exodus of NE people from many parts of the country like Bangalore, Pune, Andhra Pradesh and Chennai. The cause of their exodus has been attributed to hate massages which they received through social networking sites and e-mails. As is coming to light now, these hate e-mails have their origin in Pakistan.
The people behind this mischief achieved their objectives at the click of a mouse without having to labour hard.
The sites are excellent modes of communication which helped people living at far off places come closer to share their moments of pain and pleasure. But the way people have started them using for harrassing people, spreading hatred among different sections of society, defaming and black-mailing people, these sites may come under scrutiny and will subjected to various kinds of restrictions from the Governments across the world. The unchecked freedom which people enjoy now will not be there anymore. It will be great loss to people especially to those who wish to work for public welfare. It will be better if these sites are used for public welfare and not public disorder self-imposed restraint is the solution.
Yours etc…
