Ukd Govt lifts ban from 5 Patanjali drugs

JAMMU, Nov 12: Uttarakhand Government has lifted ban from five medicines of Patanjali Sansthan and has given its nod to the Sansthan to start production of these drugs once again.
In a letter addressed today to Patanjali’s Divya Pharmacy, authorities of Ayurvedic and Unani Services, Uttarakhand said that the ban imposed on production of your five medicines due to some mistake, is lifted and you can carry on with production of these medicines as usual. The drugs from which the production ban has been lifted are Divya Madhugrit, Divya Eyegrit Gold, Divya Thyrogrit, Divya BPgrit and Divya Lipidom.
“All the products and medicines made by Divya Pharmacy are according to the prescribed standards, fulfilling all statutory processes. We are being attacked by those who run the business of confusion and fear in the world of medicine,” said Patanjali Sansthan in a press release issued today.
It added that the department which had been tasked to glorify Ayurveda and establish Ayurveda as a national system of medicine, is itself engaged in eradicating Ayurveda by defaming it. “We can never accept this unfortunate act and will not allow this conspiracy to succeed in any way,” the Sansthan said, adding that Patanjali has already sent its response to the Government authorities.
Pertinent to mention here that Authorities of Ayurvedic and Unani Services, Uttarakhand had asked Patanjali’s Divya Pharmacy to immediately stop production of its five drugs viz. Divya Madhugrit, Divya Eyegrit Gold, Divya Thyrogrit, Divya BPgrit, and Divya Lipidom. According to Patanjali, these medicines were used to control diabetes, eye infection, thyroid, blood pressure and cholesterol.
