SRINAGAR, Nov 21: Over two dozen workers of local and urban bodies here staged protest against the Government for its failure to regularize daily wagers, effective and time-bound transfer policy, fixing seniority in every cadre and implementation of service rules.
Under the banner of ‘Jammu and Kashmir Local Bodies Employees United Forum’, the workers staged a protest and tried to proceed towards Main Market Residency Road, but police deployed on the spot stopped them and later the employees dispersed peacefully.
“The Government should implement service rules, rationalization of staff pattern in these institutions, conduct of DPC-seniority of various service cadres, regularization of daily wagers, consolidated employees having been in the department for more than 15 years, release of 6th Pay Commission and time-bound settlement of pension,” the agitating workers said.
The angry employees also burnt the effigies to show their anger against the Government.
