Employees of Urban Local Bodies staging protest at Srinagar. -Excelsior/ Amin War

SRINAGAR, June 13: The employees of Urban Local Bodies today held a protest here to press for their pending demands.
Hundreds of employees from all the 47 Municipal Committees of Kashmir division assembled at the Press Enclave and demanded cancellation of Government’ order of curtailment of salary of the MTs.
The employees were also demanding release of full monthly salary, implementation of reorganistaion and recruitment rules in the department, regularization of consolidated workers and casual labours, release of 6th Pay Commission arrears, transparent transfer policy, and conduction of divisional level DPC among others.
Both Worker Union of the ULBs, Urban Local Bodies Employees United Forum (ULBEUF) and ULBs Employees Association converged at the Enclave and raised slogans against the Government. They warned that if the Government does not fulfill their demands an agitation will be launched soon.
