Uma assures all help for lake project

JAMMU, May 15: Union Water Resources Minister, Uma Bharti today assured all support to PDP-BJP Government in Jammu and Kashmir for completion of River Tawi artificial lake project.
The assurance was given to Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh, who called on the Union Minister this evening and pleaded for all necessary support for completion of prestigious project.
“Union Water Resources Minister has assured to immediately depute a high-level technical team to assess the hurdles in the project and suggest remedial measures so that this project becomes a reality”, Dr Singh told EXCELSIOR from Union Capital soon after her meeting with Uma Bharti.
Keeping in view huge investment made in the project and its importance from tourism point of view besides providing assured irrigation facilities to the villages situated in the tail-end of Ranbir Canal, the Union Minister said, “whatever assistance is required to give practical shape to the project would be extended to Jammu and Kashmir Government”.
