UN Secy Gen urges Pak to bring culprits of Wagah blast to book

NEW DELHI, Nov 4:
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today condemned Sunday’s terror attack on the Pakistani side of the Wagah border and urged Pakistan to bring the guilty to book. A statement issued by the UN office here said, “the Secretary-General condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack.”
“Such terrorist acts are not justifiable under any circumstances. The Secretary-General urges the Pakistani authorities to bring those responsible to justice,” it said. He expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the attack and to the people and Government of Pakistan and wished those wounded a quick recovery. The suicide attack that took place just after the daily flag lowering ceremony at the Wagah checkpost on the border had left over 50 dead and around 100 injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also condemned the blast, describing it as a “dastardly act of terrorism.” (UNI)
