UNITED NATIONS, Oct 10: Human rights lawyers filed a class-action lawsuit against the United Nations yesterday to seek compensation for Haitian victims of a cholera epidemic they blame on UN peacekeepers. The decision to file the suit in New York comes after the United Nations said earlier this year that it would not pay hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation claimed by cholera victims in impoverished Haiti.
