Unemployed Engineers take up issues with Advisor

JAMMU, Sept 21: A delegation of All J&K Young Unemployed Engineers Association met RR Bhatnagar, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor.
A memorandum highlighting the problems of unemployed engineering aspirants was submitted to the Advisor.
The delegation includes Muktesh Yogi, Vikas Koul, Shubham Abrol, Vishal Saini and others.
While speaking, the delegation said that every year the pass out engineers are 15000 approximately and not even a single post has been advertised in any branch–Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, E&C, IT and Computer from past 7 years.
“The last advertisement of engineers was in 2013-2014. After this not even single posts of engineers whether gazetted or non-gazetted has been advertised”, they added.
In 2018 some posts of electrical junior engineer and assistant electrical engineer was advertised but after sometime the posts were withdrawn, due to which the youth went into depression, they said, adding that it is duty of UT Government to utilize the genuine power of Engineers in their respective fields.
“We certainly demands that both private and Government agencies should give first priority to J&K young unemployed engineers”, they said.
The delegation members informed that the culture of private companies has floated in J&K and they are engaging 95 per cent of their engineering staff from outside J&K and rarely provide a job to J&K youth.
They demanded filling up of vacant posts of all engineering wings–Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and Communication, Information Technology, Computer etc and a policy should be framed for private companies to accommodate J&K engineers’ atleast in UT projects.
