JAMMU, Apr 3: Some unemployed technocrats with qualification in Tourism Management courses, have urged the Government to introduce the scheme of Rehabre-sio-Siyat for their absorption on the pattern of Rehbar-e-Talim and Rehbar-e-Zirat.
They have also formed a body under the name and style of All J&K Hospitality and Tourism Management Unemployed Association for effectively highlighting their grievances and demands before the Government.
All the Association members are qualified in various Tour and Travel Management courses like Bachelor in Hospitality Management, BTS, MTM, PGDHM, three-year Diploma in Tour and Travel Management from Polytechnics, DTS, CTS, etc.
Talking to media persons, here today, chairman of the Association, Sanjay Jamwal said that they want to work with the Tourism Department as a Self Help Group to provide professional solutions to the Government. “We can work as professionals on different fields like catering, guides for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Amarnath Yatra, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah Shrine and other religious places,” he said.
Mr Jamwal said that they were going to approach the Government, both State and Central, over their demands for the development of new projects in Jammu and Kashmir so that more and more educated unemployed youth may be absorbed. “There are number of tourist places in Jammu, which need to be further developed for attracting more tourists here and creating employment for the youth,” he said and added that by taking help of professionals like them, the Tourism Department can provide much better services.
He also highlighted some other demands of the Association and sought lateral entry for the candidates with three-year Diploma in Tour and Travel Management from Polytechnic in second year of the Degree course.
