Rural belt lacks development: Manjit

JAMMU, Sept 11: Apni Party, general secretary, Vikram Malhotra today said unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir is at an all time-high. Malhotra was speaking in a joining programme which was organised by District general secretary, Apni Trade Union – Jammu Urban, Dalbir Singh during which a large number of people joined the party.
While welcoming the newcomers into the party, its general secretary, Vikram Malhotra said that the sudden rise in unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir is a serious cause of concern for all of us as it is at an all time-high.
“The figures have gone up to 25 lakh in J&K. In the last three years, unemployment has increased and the private sector is among the worst hit with regard to jobs,” he added.
He said that the Government should make efforts with the involvement of army, paramilitary and J&K Police so that they can hold on spot recruitment in border belts, villages and in Jammu City.
“The energy of the youth must be channelized towards the right direction in this sensitive erstwhile State of J & K,” he further said and hoped that the Government would take some steps like a special employment package for the unemployed youth.
He said that the recruitment process must have expertise and all the vacant posts should be advertised. He said that the unemployment has increased after August 5, 2021 since the Government was not able to fulfill promises of providing adequate jobs to the youth. He sought intervention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha so that the unemployment issue can be resolved with advertisement of more jobs.
While welcoming the people who joined Apni Party its provincial president, Jammu, Manjit Singh said that the party has won the confidence of the people of the UT due to its positive approach and truthfulness towards the issues of the people.
“The people have suffered politically in Jammu as well as in Kashmir as the political parties exploited their emotions to gain votes. By misleading the innocent people of the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir, these political parties repeatedly returned to power and did nothing for the people.
“They exploited the people and their emotions for political gains. However, the Apni Party has exposed such political parties. We tell the truth to the people. We promise what is achievable without misleading them with unachievable and emotional slogans,” he added.
