SRINAGAR, June 6: Police claimed to have fished out an unidentified male body from river Jehlum at Katpora Charsoo in Awantipora.
A police spokesman said the deceased is about 55 years of age, with gray beard and is wearing grey colour Khan dress, olive green colour sweater and a Vest coat.
The spokesman said police has initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC to ascertain the identity and cause of the death.
He said the body of deceased is lying in police station Awantipora for identification. Anybody having any information regarding his whereabouts may please inform Police station Awantipora or Police control room Srinagar Dial 100.
