JAMMU, Aug 25: Questioning the logic behind depriving General/OBC category children (boys) of their school uniforms, Teacher’s Welfare Association President, Jasmeet Singh Madaan has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to immediately pass necessary instructions to the concerned in order to rectify the order and ensure no student is deprived of school uniform under the scheme on the basis of their family background.
Expressing serious concerns over the manner in which an order has been issued, Madaan said who will stand up and respond to queries of young children when they will ask why they have been deprived of their school uniforms and on what basis.
Madaan said as per the order children belonging to SC/ST/BPL in boys section are entitled to receive their school uniforms barring General/OBC category boys.
