JAMMU, May 17: Reacting over the Chief Minister’s proposal of ‘unilateral ceasefire’ during the month of Ramzan, Janta Dal United has said that such type of proposals will bring no results on ground.
“PDF is just befooling the people of the State. If Mehbooba Mufti is serious about resolving the sufferings of the people of the State she must discussed the aforesaid issue in the All Party Meeting”, GM Shah, State President, JDU said while talking to reporters here today.
He asserted that in the coming days, JDU will lead a delegation to meet the Prime Minister in New Delhi to discuss the present situation of the J&K.
Shah also urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting the State on March 19 to announce special package for the people of the Jammu and Kashmir in general and youth in particular.
He said that after the death of Burhan Wani there is volatility in the State due to the ill-conceived policies of the Coalition Government.
“The youth of the State are facing enormous problems due to unemployment in the State”, he said, adding that the Prime Minister should announce adequate package for J&K so that concrete measures should be taken to address the alienation especially among the youth.
Expressing concern over the sufferings of people of Jammu region, Shah said that there is no accountability of the hardships being faced by the people related to the basic amenities.
He stated that after shifting of Secretariat to Srinagar, no Government office is working in Jammu region as people are seen on roads due to scarcity of power and water supply and there is no one to hear the grievances of people.
He appealed to the Government to address the problems being faced by the people of Jammu region on priority failing which the JDU will come on roads and expose the misdeeds of the ruling Government on all fronts.
Among others present were Ghulam Nabi Dar, senior vice president, Yashpal Sharma, district president, Mukesh Gupta, Ali Akbar and Ashok Sharma.
Earlier, Shah inaugurated the Party Office at Gujjar Basti, Belicharana Jammu.
