Union Cabinet Secy assures full support to J&K

SRINAGAR, June 6 : While extending gratitude to Cabinet Secretary, Ajit Kumar Seth and his team for visiting Jammu and Kashmir and sorting out pending issues on fast track basis, State Chief Secretary, Mohammad Iqbal Khandey expressed the hope that the release of funds by the Union Government regarding the projects presently under implementation and in the pipeline will be expedited.
The Cabinet Secretary assured full support to the State Government and said that the discussions taking place were highly fruitful to sort out the pending issues. He directed various Union Secretaries to be in touch with the Administrative Secretaries in Jammu and Kashmir Government for ensuring smooth flow of committed funds to the State.
On the concluding day of the consecutive marathon meetings through video conference lasting four hours between the Central and State teams led by the Union Cabinet Secretary and the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary respectively, several pending issues pertaining to various development sectors were discussed and resolved.
While most of the issues were settled during the meetings, substantial progress was achieved in addressing some of the remaining subjects. It was decided that these issues will be discussed by the concerned Union and State Secretaries in the subsequent meetings for their final resolution.
The sectors that were taken up in today’s meeting included Education, Health, Sports, Rural Development, Culture, Tribal Affairs, Social Welfare, Panchayats, Urban Development, Animal & Sheep husbandry, Fisheries, Agriculture, Textiles and MSME sector.
