Union Joint Secy reviews progress of Centre of Excellence projects

NEW DELHI, Feb 14: Union Joint Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MIDH), Rajbir Singh today chaired a meeting to review the progress of various Centre of Excellence (CoE) projects being taken under Indo Dutch Cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Mission Director (MIDH) J&K, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat who presented a detailed report of ongoing two CoE projects for temperate fruits at Srinagar and one for sub-tropical fruits at Jammu. While presenting the current status of the projects, he assured the meeting that the projects will be completed during the current fiscal.
The meeting was also attended by Counsellor Agriculture Siebe Schuur, Embassy of Kingdom of the Netherlands and Mission Directors from J&K, Karnataka, Kerela, Maharashtra, Punjab and other officers of Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
On the occasion, the Union Joint Secretary stressed on the officers to remain in touch with PUM experts of Netherlands and speedup the works so as to complete these projects within the stipulated time frame.
