Union Ministers, CMs, political parties pay tribute to former President APJ Abdul Kalam

NEW DELHI: Union Ministers, Chief Ministers and various political parties, on Saturday, paid tribute to India’s ‘Missile Man’, former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his fourth death anniversary.
Union Ministers Amit Shah, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Srmiti Irani, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Chief Ministers Ashok Gehlot, Mamata Banerjee, Captain Amarinder Singh, Arvind Kejriwal, Yogi Adityanath and Jagan Mohan Reddy and political parties like Congress and BJP paid their tribute to India’s ‘People’s President’.
“Tributes to our former President, Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam ji on his punyatithi. He was an outstanding scientist and a great motivator whose teachings has inspired millions of lives. Nation can never forget his monumental contribution in the field of science and technology”, tweeted Home Minister Amit Shah.
In his tweet, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “My tribute to the former President of India, great teacher and eminent scientist “Bharat Ratna”.
“Remembering former President of India Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his death anniversary. His warmth, simplicity and thoughts continue to inspire us”, tweeted Union Minister for Textiles and Women and Child Development Srmiti Irani.
“He lead from the front”, said Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
“An ardent teacher, a beacon of light for all the dreamers, an illustration of “I can spirit” former Indian President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam has played a irreplaceable role in India space program. He lead from the front. I pay my homage on his death anniversary”, he tweeted.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted, “Remembering former President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his death anniversary, whose simple living and visionary thinking for India will always be an inspiration”.
“4 years ago on this very day, India lost its Missile Man. My heartfelt tribute to the former President APJ Abdul Kalam who taught us all to dream. Sir, you will always be an inspiration for millions”, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh paid his homage.
Mamata Banerjee said, “Solemnly and very fondly remembering former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his death anniversary”.
Paying to tribute to India’s 11th President, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath tweeted in Hindi, “Dr Kalam used to say that if you desire to be radiant like the sun, you have to first burn like it.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted in Hindi saying Late Kalam was one of the true sons of Mother India, whose talent and service gave a name to the country on the land and also in space. His life is worth emulating.
Bharat Ratna Abdul Kalam is a source of Inspiration for the country, said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and added that the nation will remain grateful to him.

His enormous contribution in the field of science and technology will always be remembered. Kalam ji’s teachings continue to inspire millions”, tweeted Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
In its tribute, the Congress said, “Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, known as the Missile Man of India, played pivotal roles in INCOSPAR, ISRO, DRDO & the missile program from 1960 to 1999. He served as the 11th President & was awarded the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan. We remember him on his death anniversary”.
“Our humble tribute to the ‘Missile Man’, former President of India, Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam whose life continues to inspire millions of youth”, the BJP tweeted.
Dr Abdul Kalam, India’s 11th President, was born in 1931 in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu. He is known as the person who redesigned India;’s space programme.
He passed away at the age of 84 on July 27, 2015 at Shillong.
