JAMMU, Sept 15: Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Narayan Rane today visited district Samba under the ongoing public outreach programme of the Centre Government.

Addressing the locals, the minister said that 80 percent of India’s manufacturing industry belongs to Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, which makes it vital for employment generation. “The need of the hour is to provide cutting edge technology to our industry to enable it to meet global competitors,” he said.
The Minister stressed on the need to manufacture quality goods to compete in the international market. The minister also assured the public of revisiting Jammu later this year to spearhead industrial development of the region.
After listening to the demands posed by local panchayat leaders, the minister assured giving technical training and on-priority jobs to the local workforce. ‘All required assistance and training infrastructure would be provided to give job-oriented technical skills to the local unemployed youth’, he said.
Sharing the vision of the Prime Minister, Narayan Rane said that the PM wants his ministers to assess on-ground situation and take feedback from the public. ‘The PM wants to ensure that the people’s lives are being touched and positive change is brought’, the minister said.
He also e-inaugurated several projects and laid e-foundation of few others at the occasion and distributed certificates to beneficiaries of various social and public welfare schemes of the government.
The MSME minister also met with a number of delegations of industrialists at SIDCO industrial area. The delegations unanimously thanked the Government and the minister for recently announced mega industrial packages for promotion of industries in Jammu & Kashmir.
