NEW DELHI: Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel today inaugurated mega LED screens at Major Dhyanchand National Stadium for free public viewing of the ongoing Champions Trophy in England.
Speaking on the development, Mr Goel said, “This is being done to utilise the free space in the stadium and also provide everyone a chance to watch the matches for free on the mega screen.”
He also said Ministry is considering to install such mega screens on permanent basis.
The Minister said the idea is to initiate sports culture among the public and optimum utilization of the stadiums, in future we will have mini-fests too that would create a huge buzz for sporting events across India.
Significantly, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and England have made to the semis of Champions Trophy and the men in blue will clash against Bangladesh on June 15 in the second semi-finals tomorrow. (AGENCIES)
