United Sikh Council seeks support for 5 candidates

JAMMU, July 4: United Sikh Council has appealed the community members to support its five candidates contesting elections for District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for Jammu district.
Addressing press conference here today Kuldeep Singh, chairman of the Council said that manifesto has been prepared by the Council after discussing the issues of the community members and fixing the priority. He said elections is being held after long  and even till today electoral rolls have not been properly prepared. Many names are missing in the voter lists and there are many discrepancies.
Mr Singh disclosed that United Sikh Council has fielded Makhan Singh from  Digiana, Balbir Singh from Gadigarh, Harpal Singh Pali from Nanak Nagar, Amarjit Singh Babloo from Marh  while Nirmal Singh from Gandhi Nagar. He appealed the Sikh voters to support these candidates in the DGPC elections.
While deliberating on the manifesto Mr Singh said that Council is committed to serve community on the principles of basic Sikh tenets keeping in mind the ethics and teachings of Guru Granth Sahib. The Council has definite programme for  implementation of Nanak Shahi Calender 2003, to bring amendments in Gurdwara Act for the welfare of the Sikh community, fight for minority status, to bring parity to religion Sewadars, Granthis, Ragis  etc.
The Council leaders circulated the manifesto during the press conference and assured the community to serve the religious places in better way and take all the necessary steps for the welfare and upliftment of the Sikh community.
Prominent among those present included Balbir Singh, Makhan Singh, Ajeetpal Singh, Amarjit Singh Babloo, Nirmal Singh, Harpal Singh, Mohinderpal Singh and Manjit Singh.
