JAMMU, Apr 12: An unknown pedestrian was today killed in a road mishap in Bishnah area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a rashly driven load carrier bearing registration number JK02BC-4853 this evening hit a pedestrian and left him seriously injured at Chorli area of Bishnah. He said that the injured man was immediately rushed to Government Hospital Bishnah, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
“The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for identification and post mortem”, the spokesman said, adding in this connection a case FIR No 39/2016 under Sections 279/304-A was registered at police station Bishnah and efforts were on to nab the accused driver, who managed to escape from the spot leaving behind the vehicle, which was seized by the police.
