JAMMU : Pakistan troops today fired unprovoked and targeted forward posts thus violating this year’s first ceasefire in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Pakistan fired unprovoked in Poonch Sector and violated the truce,” defence spokesperson here today said. He said the ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army was reported in Shahpur area of Poonch Sector, adding that, “there was exchange of mortar fire and automatics from about mid night to 0430 hours.”
The spokesperson said that own troops have responded appropriately while no casualty or damage has been reported in the firing. Earlier Pakistan fired heavily on LoC in Poonch in September last year. (AGENCIES)
