MENDHAR, Feb 17: Due to the leakages of supply lines, Mendhar town is getting supply of unsafe drinking water.
According to the locals, several leakages on the supply lines have contaminated the drinking water, which is posing a threat of the outbreak of serious and dangerous diseases like gastro-enteritis, other ailmentary infections, diarrhea etc.
They lamented that despite appeals by them the PHE authorities have done nothing in this regard while things were going from bad to worse.
Heaps of garbage, overflowing gutters and choked drains with polythene bags, rags and plastic are seen in various localities of the town through which the leaked water pipes are passing, they added.
