UPA govt on ventilator: Venkaiah Naidu

HYDERABAD, Mar 23:
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader and former Union Minister K Venkaia Naidu today sarcastically charged the Congress led-UPA government was on ‘ventilator’ with the outside support of the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahaujan Samaj Party (BSP).
Addressing a press conference here, he said the UPA government was clearly reduced to a minority after the DMK and Trinamool Congress parties withdrew their support. Now, it is on ventilator with the outside support of the SP and BSP’, he alleged.
He said general election’s were imminent and the UPA will also go to polls along with Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattishgarh between November and December or after elections in Karnataka.
He said the DMK has realized that it will also be affected if it continues with the Congress which was becoming unpopular day by day. The SP and BSP are waiting for an opportunity to fall out.
“Many are also realising that the supporting parties will be held responsible for all the sins, omissions and commissions of the ruling party,” he said.
The Congress is misusing various investigating agencies as usual to keep the allies under control, Mr Naidu alleged. The most shameful episode was the raid on the DMK leader’s house within the hours of his party withdrawing support ot the UPA.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram expressed their unhappiness over the raids and at the same time they stated that the timing of the raids was most unfortunate and would find out the details. It is highly objectionable and unbecoming of the Prime Minister to make such statement, Mr Naidu criticised.
The BJP leader said the Congress has once again proved that it has not capacity to run a coalition and it does not follow ‘Coalition dharma’. That’s why one after another is leaving the UPA.
Parliament did not function in the last week, it was even not able to discuss on the most important anti-rape law, Mr Naidu charges. The reason was not the opposition but the allies of the ruling party. They kept on going to the well of the House and didn’t allow any business to be transacted.
