JAMMU, Mar 25: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Congress candidate from Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary seat, Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that Congress led Union Government has initiated several innovative measures to ensure upliftment of the people.
Addressing a public meeting at Talab Tillo organised by JKPCC general secretary Manmohan Choudhary, Mr Azad said that various policies framed by the Central Government are people friendly and will benefit the masses in the long run.
He said Congress has always respected the sentiments of people of country and it is a unifying force for the broader unity in view of its secular ideals.
JKPCC chief Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, while speaking on the occasion, asked the people not to fall prey to those political parties, whose main agenda is to divide the people for the petty interests.
“Congress always worked to maintain peace, prosperity and brotherhood among the people of J&K”, Prof Soz added.
He said Congress has always played a vital role in Jammu and Kashmir and taken care of the aspirations of the each region of the State. He appealed the workers of Congress and NC to gear up for ensuring victory of the coalition candidates.
Minister for Housing, Culture and Horticulture, Raman Bhalla said that Government has taken various initiatives to improve the living conditions in slum and backward basties by providing them all basic amenities. “Whatever development country and J&K has witnessed is only due to the vision of the leadership of Congress party”, he added.
Member Parliament and alliance candidate from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary seat appealed people particularly the youngsters to unite against the communal forces, which are hell bent to divide the people for their petty interests.
