JAMMU, Sept 13: The youth of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory are second to none in talent and ability as they have proven their mettle and made mark conspicuously in every sphere of activity-art, sports, academics and culture.
This was stated by Tarun Uppal, chairperman, Nirbhay Bharat Foundation (NBF) while speaking at the finale of auditions for J&K’s maiden haunted web series ‘The Last Trip’ at Anytime Fitness Gym, Narwal.
On the occasion, the jury members were Dr. Kunwar Gunit, Neha Lahotra, Rekha Sharma, Dr. Zinnia. K. Dogra and G.S Shakti. While, R J Sarash, R J Anchita, R J Vani and R J Abhishekh from Radio Nation, the Official Radio Partners.
Tarun Uppal, who was the chief guest in the finale of auditions, said that the youth of Jammu have immense unexplored talent and potential, which sometimes remains unutilized either because of lack of opportunity or lack of mentorship and grooming. The same youngsters, he said, when given a chance of a wider exposure, tend to expose themselves and excel in various fields. He maintained that in changing context and current milieu, the youngsters deserve to be provided opportunity to train and reorient themselves to the new requirements.
He urged the youth to channelize their energies for steering Jammu and Kashmir to peace, progress and prosperity and work unitedly for nation building.
Later, Uppal announced the names of shortlisted contestants for web series who included Khushbu Rehman, Sania, Satyam, Shivam Sharma, Angat Raina, Radha Malhotra, Anish Thakur, Renu Devi, Sakshi Jamwal, Jatin Kajotra, Vishal Kumar Bhagat, Babik Sambyal, Rumla, Kajal Chaudhary, Metali Dogra, Aly Khan, Diksha Pandita, Tazim, Sapna, Juhi Kalsotra, Surya Singh Rajput, Simran Dogra, Sahil Dogra, Vishal Bhatt, Vishal Kumar Thappa and Rahul. Besides, Contestants under 10 yrs category included Aadhya Wazir, Eknoor Kour and Drishti Gupta.
