Uptick In Encounters In J&K Will Have No Difference: Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar, Nov 13: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said the uptick in encounters between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir will not make any difference on ground.
“The encounters between terrorists and security forces have taken place earlier and will continue in future in Jammu and Kashmir,”Farooq told reporters in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
”I have seen encounters before and will see them in the future too. This doesn’t make any difference,” Abdullah said when asked about the increase in the number of encounters in Kashmir.
The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister had gone to Budgam to appear before a court in connection with a 2017 case.
The NC President also pitched for the reconstruction of the new court building as he said the present structure is not enough for the people of the district.
“We will request the government for construction of a new court and Justice Masoodi will see that the new court will come up here with the modern facilities so that people can benefitted”, Farooq said. (Agencies)
