JAMMU, May 18: Promotion of Urdu Language, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India and Qasmi Qutub Khana Jammu, today organized the 4th “Manzar Azmi Memorial Lecture”.
The thought provoking lecture was delivered by Prof Qudose Javed, former HoD Urdu, Kashmir University on the topic “Poetic of contemporary Urdu Novel”.
Prof R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor of JU, presided over the function while noted historian Aseer Kishtwari was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Prof. Qudose described Molvi Nazir Ahmed as 1st Novelist of Urdu language. He threw light on the development of Urdu Novels with special reference to contemporary Western Novelist.
Prof R D Sharma reminded those days when Prof Manzar Azmi was serving in the Urdu Department and discuss his close association with him.
Prof Shohab Inayat Malik threw light on the life and personality of Prof Manzar Azmi who served the Department of Urdu more than 35 years.
