JAMMU, Mar 13: Governor NN Vohra today administered oath to NC MLA from Uri Mohammad Shafi Uri as Pro-tem Speaker in the Raj Bhawan.
Uri will now administer oath to 89 MLAs in the Assembly on March 17.
He will discharge functions of the Speaker till election of the Speaker scheduled to be held in the Assembly at 10 am on March 18.
During oath to the Pro-tem Speaker, prominent among those present on the occasion were Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Basharat Bukhari, Principal Secretaries to Governor, RK Gupta and Pradip K Tripathi, Law Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Mir and Legislative Assembly Secretary Mohammad Ramzan.
