US Army signs $191Mln contract for security services at Taji Base in Iraq – Pentagon

WASHINGTON, Dec 27: The US Army has awarded SOS International a more than $191-million contract for base life support and security services in Taji, Iraq, the Department of Defense announced in a news release.
“SOS International LLC [of] Reston, Virginia was awarded a $191,225,021 firm-fixed-price contract for base life support and security services,” the release stated on Wednesday.
“Work will be performed in Taji, Iraq, with an estimated completion date of December 31, 2023.” Fiscal 2019 operations and maintenance and military personnel appropriations funds in the amount of $83 million were obligated at the time of the award and US Army Contracting Command at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, is the contracting activity, the Defense Department said.
SOS International is a provider of foreign language and cultural advisory services to the US federal law enforcement community and other security programs.
