US based Hindi poet recites poems in YHLS meet

JAMMU, Nov 24: Yuva Hindi Lekhak Sangh (YHLS) today organised a poetic meet, which was presided over by Shashi Padha, an America based Hindi poet.
At the commencement of the meet, eminent poet Dr O P Gupt presented his views on the contemporary state of Hindi poetry in Jammu. He added that Jammu and Kashmir’s Hindi poetry is at par with national level and that has to be if Hindi poets of the State don’t want to be pushed in the oblivion by the poetry of the local languages.
Arvind Sharma, Amita Mehta, Dr Parveen Kumari, Sheikh Mohammad Kalyan, Kapil Anirudhh, Arun Bajaj, Sunil Sharma, Yogita Yadav and Dr Gupt then recited their poems.
All the poems were comprehensively discussed after their recital.
In her presidential address, Shashi Padha remarked that apart from meetings where each and every poem is only baselessly praised meets of this type where poems are critically analysed are much better as they hone the budding poets and polish the creations.
She shared her experiences about Hindi in US before reciting her poems and verses. Sheikh Mohammad Kalyan did comparing while Dr Parmeshwari Sharma presented the vote of thanks.
