Dr Jitendra Singh appreciated the work being done by the “Indo-US Health Initiatives” group  and said, during the last three years of the Modi Government, especially because of the personal intervention and outreach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yoga has not only found a world-wide acceptance, but is also becoming increasingly popular in the US as well as other parts of the western world as a means of curative as well as preventive healthcare. The benefits of Yoga in containing lifestyle diseases like Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, hypertension and heart diseases have been proven with evidence beyond doubt, as a result of which, the leading healthcare centres in the world are also including Yoga and other related health practices in the protocol of their management and preventive regimens, he said.

He said, he would then place the proposal submitted by them before different concerned Ministries and agencies for their views and inputs.
