User Fee at Toll Plazas across J&K revised

JAMMU, Apr 1: Revised User Fee with enhanced rates in proportion to the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) today became applicable at all the Toll Plazas across Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory.
As the Union Ministry of Road Transport has temporarily suspended collection of fee at all Toll Plazas across the country till April 14 in view of the ongoing lockdown due to COVID-19 threat, the revised User Fee shall be charged as and when the collection is re-started.
Rates of the User Fee for all types of vehicles as well as the monthly pass, have been revised in proportion to WPI as per annual exercise thus affecting an enhancement of approximately Rs 5 to Rs 10 in the toll charges.
However, the User Fee at newly sanctioned Toll Plaza in Lakhanpur will not be collected till the same becomes operational even as the rates of this entry point have also been revised along with the other Toll Plazas.
” Certain formalities are yet to be completed by the Government of J&K after which the National Highway Authority of India will erect the infrastructure for Toll Plaza at Lakhanpur in Kathua district and the same may take some time,” said NHAI Project Director Ajay Kumar Rajak.
Pertinent to mention that there are five operational Toll Plazas on the National Highway in J&K, which are situated at Ban (Jammu-Udhampur road), Thandikhui ( Jammu-Vijaypur road), Kachkoot in Srinagar, Nashri in Ramban and Madha in Chenani.
