SRINAGAR, Aug 25: The former Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bandipora, Usman Majid today said that he will contest from Bandipora as an independent candidate.
Majid parted ways with Congress in 2019 to join Altaf Bukhari’s Apni Party as its vice president. He, however, resigned from the Apni Party recently.
Majid said he is in talks with regional parties, but he won’t be a part of any pre-poll alliance.
“Politics is a dynamic thing, you don’t know who will form alliance with who, so I am staying away from it,” he said at a youth convention held in his office today.
However, he said that if he is elected, he will decide about the alliance after consulting his workers.
