USTA calls on Secretary School Education, submits demands

JAMMU, Jan 23: A deputation of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) under the leadership of Rajeev Kumar, Provincial President called on B K Singh, Administrative Secretary School Education Department and put forth the charter of demands.
The demands included introducing pre-primary class by providing additional teachers and infrastructure in all schools having primary classes, debar teachers from all types of non-academic duties, adjust all the left out newly promoted lecturers in various subjects who are waiting for their adjustments for the last 15 months, regularise all incharge lecturers, Headmasters, ZEOs and other officers of the Education Department , strict implementation of Transfer policy, fill up all existing vacant posts of Masters, Lecturers, Headmasters, ZEOs, Principals and non-teaching staff by way of DPC, make proper allocation of budget to release pending salary and other arrears of teachers and masters working under Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
USTA also demanded creating Master grade posts for upper primary schools as per RMSA pattern, convert all left out RReTs into teachers grade II and III as per SAC decision and release 1st time bound in favour of undergraduate teacher appointed with effect from January 1992 to 1997.
The Administrative Secretary held detail discussion with the delegation on all the demands one by one in a very cordial manner and he briefed that work is going on some issues like implementation of transfer norms, regularisation and DPC process etc. He assured to resolve all the demands in near future.
