JAMMU, Dec 15: J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) highlighted demands of the teaching fraternity in its meeting held here today.
Hari Singh, provincial president of USTA strongly criticized the authority for not conceding teachers’ demands which include modify suitably hard hit cases of Masters in recent transfers and adjustments, transfer all left out Masters and Lecturers who have completed their tenure of two years to 7 years in far flung areas as well as out of their district by adapting norms based transfer policy and release pending salary for the month of January, February 2018 and arrears of 7th Pay Commission including DA arrear in favour of masters working as head teacher.
He also reiterated other demands like release of grant to clear 4 months and 6 months salary of ReTs converted to teacher grade II and III respectively and also 20 to 25 months pending salary of ReTs regularized during the year 2014 to 2017, regularization of In charge Lecturers, Headmasters, ZEOs and Principals and those ReTs who have completed 5 years service and EVS who are working in the Department for the last 15 years.
Singh also asserted for regulating In-Situ promotions in favour of under graduates teachers appointed between 1992-1997, adjustment of all newly promoted lecturers at an earliest in one go, bringing employees working in rural areas under 16% HRA (i.e. restoration of erstwhile mufisil allowance), spare teachers from all type of non-academic duties and provide subject teachers in all schools at least one teacher in each class.
Earlier, the activists of JKSSA Teacher Forum under the leadership of Younis Rahi unanimously decided and merged their forum with J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA).
